NML Rules & Regulations

The Rules

NML is a private company limited by guarantee without share capital, and its sole purpose is the management of the private property belonging to NML at Netherne-on-the-Hill. That property covers extensive areas of land, the leisure centre, cricket pavilion and the village hall. We are also responsible for the playground and tennis courts which are available to NML gym members and we maintain the old hospital’s cemetery. NML also owns a football pitch which is the site of a telecoms mast for the benefit of our residents, both of which are let to third parties.

Under NML’s Articles of Association, the board may from time to time establish such rules or bye-laws as it considers necessary for the proper conduct and management of the company, and those rules are summarised on this page. They exist for the benefit of the village as a whole, and any new rules or bye-laws will be added here as and when new policies are introduced.

NML Rules & Regulations
1

Use of Motor Powered Vehicles on NML Land

All land owned by NML is private. Unless you have the prior permission of NML, it is prohibited to use motor powered vehicles such as mopeds or quad bikes on any of the footpaths or common land within the estate. This does not include mobility vehicles but does also include high powered electric bikes and scooters. Visitors to the cricket pavilion may use the access road from Hedgefield Villas to park behind the Pavilion observing a strict 10mph speed limit if necessary.

2

Horse Riding

Horse riding is not permitted on NML land.

3

Camping

Unless you have the prior permission of NML, camping on NML land is not permitted.

4

Barbecues

Disposable or charcoal BBQ's are not permitted on NML land at any time. The only exception would be the use of a gas BBQ's previously agreed by NML in conjunction with hiring the cricket pavilion.

5

Use of the Leisure Centre by Debtors

If a member is in debt to NML, whether through unpaid service charges or annual estate rent charges, and does not have an agreed repayment plan in place, the board reserves the right to suspend that member's access to the leisure centre until the debt has been cleared or a repayment plan agreed.

6

Dogs on NML Land

Dogs are welcome on NML land, and we want to make sure the estate remains an enjoyable space for everyone, whether they have a four-legged companion or not. With that in mind, we ask all dog owners and walkers to observe the following:

  • Dogs should be kept under control at all times on NML land, and this is particularly important in and around the family play park, where young children are present.
  • No more than four dogs may be walked by one person at any one time.
  • Dog fouling must always be picked up. Dedicated dog waste bins are located around the estate for this purpose, and we ask that all waste is disposed of in these bins rather than general litter bins.
7

General

Everyone using NML land for recreational purposes is asked to exercise a duty of care, keep noise to a reasonable level, and take any litter home or make use of the bins provided around the estate. A little consideration goes a long way in a community like ours.
