THE Village
Every Friday and Saturday
Every Friday and Saturday, the Pavilion transforms into the much-loved Pavilion Café. Come and enjoy freshly made cakes, delicious savouries, and a great selection of hot and cold drinks, served up by friendly faces who are genuinely glad you stopped by.
It is a lovely way to catch up with neighbours, take a moment to slow down, and feel part of this wonderful community.

Today, the ground itself serves as Salfords’ second home, hosting their junior sides alongside their 3rd and 4th XI senior teams, which means there is rarely a shortage of cricket to enjoy from the Pavilion on a sunny afternoon.
Whether you are a keen spectator, a parent on the boundary, or simply someone who enjoys the gentle rhythms of a summer match, Salfords’ fixtures are a wonderful addition to life on the estate.
A natural home for getting together
The Pavilion is also a regular home for community get-togethers. If you have an idea for a community event, the Pavilion is a brilliant space in which to make it happen.
A Close-Knit Community Group
The Netherne Classics is a friendly social group for Netherne residents aged 50 and over. It meets weekly at the Pavilion for a catch-up over tea and cake, with plenty of chat and a genuinely warm welcome for anyone new. For more details about the Classics and their activities, including the bus trips, please contact Marie at nethernera@gmail.com
Beyond the weekly get-togethers, the group also organises social outings to local places and further afield, giving members something to look forward to throughout the year.

Built for cricket, kept by the community
The Pavilion holds a special place in the heart of Netherne. Originally built to serve the estate’s own cricket team, it has been part of the community fabric for generations, and the cricket very much continues. The village team still takes to the field for a handful of friendlies each year, with the season building towards its highlight: the Netherne Village Cup.
Now played as a memorial match in honour of Bob Churchhouse, a much-loved resident and umpire for Salfords CC.
